Rocco Reed

Rocco Reed is a new male talent making waves on the straight side of the adult industry. He recently granted me an indepth interview.

How did you get started as an adult actor?

I got my start doing nude modeling and I shot for Playgirl a couple of times. A friend of mine introduced me to my agent still to this day, Derek Hay, and he has helped me a lot, and I owe him a lot for my success thus far.

What jobs did you have before doing porn (other than mainstream acting that we talked about a little)?

I mostly did modeling, and acting. But I have had random jobs working at bars bartending, waiting tables, and bar backing.. the arbitrary transitional job from college to I don’t know what I am going to do next…

Have you experienced any jealousy from other males in the business because you’re the new guy in their territory? How did you deal with it?

Initially there was rift between some other performers and I. I began working a lot right away when Derek began representing me, I haven’t performed in less than 18 to 20 scenes in a month in nearly 2 years, so that didn’t go over well at first. But I am a very low key and humble person who respects the guys like Randy Spears, Tommy Gunn, Steven St. Croix, Evan Stone, and Sean Michaels. So its just like when you join any new circle of people some people like you and some people don’t. But today I am friends with all the above mentioned and particularly working with Wicked Pictures so much Randy Spears and I have became good friends and I look to him constantly for advice from everything from acting to relationships. Respect is to be earned not demanded and I think I have done that so far in my career.

Do you want to stay in porn forever or is this a personal exploration?

Of course porn is a personal exploration of myself. I think having sex on camera knowing that potentially everyone from your neighbor to your 2nd grade teacher couldn’t possible see it is both exciting and empowering. Having sex is one of the most naturalistic acts one could do, it just so happens that I do it in a way that is captured on video which fortunately for me is my job. But porn is a career commitment for me. I love the industry and I plan on performing for several more years along with learning to edit, direct, and shoot camera. Porn is the most dirty, nasty, beautiful, most amazing thing in the world and I am proud that I am part of it.

Do any of your ex’s know that you are doing porn now and what do they think?

I was dating someone prior to beginning my career in adult and when she found out we completely lost touch. She also told me to delete any pictures I might have of us together…..;) But for every person I have lost in my life I have gained so much more from the adult industry. Everyone in this industry is a part of a family and I have formed so many more meaningful relationships because of it.
